The Haddenham Fish Scheme Volunteers Drivers & Non Drivers

Drivers

By being a volunteer driver with whatever time you can spare – maybe an hour once a month/fortnight or even weekly.

Some people prefer to commit themselves to a regular lift so that they know where they stand. Others find it easier to leave their commitment flexible to fit in with whatever they are doing each week. Drivers can indicate their preference for eg, just local trips or being willing to drive further afield. Whatever help you can give will be much appreciated.

Our volunteers take Haddenham residents to the Medical Centre, to dentist, hospital and other medical appointments as well as to local hairdressers and shops.

Some volunteers work part time so are only available on certain days of the week and some volunteers are only available at certain times of the year or only in school holidays.

Your commitment can be as much or as little as you like – every bit helps.

Non Drivers

By going on the phone rota for organising lifts for a week at a time. At present this job comes round about every 4 months

Phone Rota - (Can be done by non-drivers as well as by drivers)

The Scheme runs using the Fish box, a red card index box containing details of all the volunteer drivers, along with a spreadsheet of the lifts to be organised for a particular week.

At the end of each week the Fish ‘box’ transfers to the next person on the Phone Rota.

Using the Google spreadsheet of lifts for each week this person then rings round the volunteer drivers and organises the lifts for that week.
Most (but not all) of the volunteers on the Phone rota also drive for the Scheme.
